The Volvo Penta won a prestigious award for DPI innovation at the Düsseldorf International Show.

The DPI unit is designed to offer improved performance, easier maintenance and greater reliability for boat owners. The new hydraulic clutch ensures quiet and smooth shifting, as well as sliding at low engine speeds, resulting in extra flexibility and greater comfort at lower boat speeds. The hydraulic clutch, together with the power steering – which is now standard on the DPI – provides improved control base operation. The DPI transmission now also comes with the Dynamic Positioning System, which automatically maintains the boat’s direction and position, even in strong currents or wind conditions – ideal when preparing for anchoring.
